So the saga continues: me and my insistent need for sweet treats. But since these are dark chocolate, I think I can get away with calling this healthy (please, oh please don’t rain on my parade). And not only are these crazy delicious, they’re also the easiest thing ever to make.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Dark chocolate chips, or baking squares, etc. (I got the large bag from Nestlé)
- Dried fruit and mixed nuts. It will be easier if these are on the smaller side: blueberries, raisins, sunflower seeds, pistachios. (*check the trail mixes at your grocery store, they might even have something pre-made)
- Salt (optional) – sea salt, Himalayan, whatever your heart desires.
- Parchment paper & baking sheets
Melt the chocolate chips in a bowl. I prefer to use a double boiler, because microwaves can be hard to time. Continuously stir the chocolate chips. When the chocolate is really smooth, start to dollop on your lined baking sheet using a spoon. The smaller the better, mainly because you can eat them in one bite and not worry about the melting chocolate in your hand because nobody got time for that.
Once you have a few spoonfuls of chocolate on the baking sheet, sprinkle a mix of the toppings on the chocolate. Finally, add a dash of salt if you’d like. Then put the trays in a cool dry place, or the fridge if you like your treats nice and cold. Let set for about thirty minutes to an hour.
I wish you the best of luck in not devouring all of these the day you make them. You’ve been warned.
Cheers.
