During my many hours of wedding Pinterest planning, I always saw embroidery hoops being used as ceremony backdrops. They often had full floral arrangements and were absolutely stunning. I decided to take that idea and attempt a little DIY for our wall above our couch. We’ve got photos, prints, and mirrors elsewhere in the apartment, so we needed a little something else for this hunk of white space.
This DIY was incredibly easy (I am an impatient DIYer- I like getting things done and seeing my hard work pay off). Here is what you’ll need:
- Eucalyptus (I used fresh, dry eucalyptus from Trader Joe’s)
- Embroidery hoop (Hit up your local Hobby Lobby, snag their coupons, and get this bad boy for a decent price. I got the largest one.)
- Floral tape & wire (While at Hobby Lobby, grab these too.)
I started by arranging the pieces at the bottom. Once I had an idea, I would wrap each one with the wire and then cover it with a piece of floral tape to pretend like I knew what the heck I was doing 🙂
This took all of about 6 minutes to do, and bada bing this Anthro worthy DIY was done.
(Not pictured: the 35 times this beauty fell down because we couldn’t find the nails…don’t try command strips!)
We finally located some nails and stuck them right at the top. I love how simple & pretty it ended up!
