Summertime usually means we’re packing up the car for weekend adventures around the midwest. And, this summer was no different. Janie joined in on all the busy fun, and both girls were champs on the many long car rides. We found ourselves on our first trip along Michigan’s sunset coast with my family. Beach days, good eats, and slow moments relaxing together.
We then spent a busy long weekend staycationing with some dear friends from out of town. Getting to play tourist in your own city is always so much fun. We found some new spots and hopped over to some old favorites, too. Sweet Chicago sure shines in the summer.
Next up was a family wedding in Iowa city. So in between all the beautiful family time and wedding fun, we explored the city and enjoyed another little adventure together.
Anytime we can find a reason to make our way to Madison, we jump on the opportunity. Will always feel like a piece of home to us, but getting to take the girls to our favorite spots makes everything all the more sweeter.
And, NO summer would be complete without a trip back up to another favorite of our’s, Door County. Planning to post that trip soon; it was so much fun.
But, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit excited to have some downtime at home. We’ve got some little projects to keep busy with, but more than that we’re just excited to spend lots of time with friends and family here.
